Changing your nominated start date
If you’ve submitted your claim for Parental Leave Pay, you may request to change the start date. You can’t change your start date if your Paid Parental Leave period has started.
To get Parental Leave Pay you must be on leave or not working, except for allowable reasons. This is from your child’s birth or adoption until the end of your Paid Parental Leave period. You should choose a start date that’s before you return to work.
You can’t get income from JobKeeper Payment at the same time as Parental Leave Pay. You can get Parental Leave Pay after your income from JobKeeper Payment ends, if you didn’t work during that time. You may want to delay the start date for Parental Leave Pay until after your income from JobKeeper Payment ends.
