What your responsibilities are
There are things you must do to get the MH17 Family Support Package.
You must do both of the following:
- make your own travel bookings, including flights and accommodation
- have travel insurance.
You must keep all relevant travel documents that prove you attended the trials. You need to keep them for at least 5 years. You must also let the Australian Government’s auditors look at your records, if requested.
Before you get the payment, you may need to confirm your identity. You may also need to confirm your relationship with the victim. If we need other information, we'll contact you.
If it's difficult for you to get or provide any documents, you can call us on 1800 517 382. If you're calling outside of Australia, it’s +61 2 8566 5659. The line is open Monday to Friday, between 8 am and 5 pm local time.
