  • you live in or work from a Commonwealth-declared COVID-19 hotspot that is subject to a state restricted movement order
  • you were unable to earn your usual income of 8 hours or more or a full day’s work because you were in the COVID-19 hotspot and are subject to restricted movement.

If you visited Sydney during the relevant periods and were then subject to a restricted movement order as a result, you may also be eligible.

You must have liquid assets of less than $10,000 if you’re claiming for the period 4 to 10 July 2021. You don’t need to meet the liquid assets rule if you’re claiming for a period starting 11 July 2021 onwards.

Liquid assets are any funds readily available to you in cash or savings, or assets that can easily be changed into cash. For example, money loaned to other people.
