Part time secondary and tertiary students
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in part time study may get ABSTUDY payments.
You may get a payment if you’re either a:
- secondary student aged 18 years or older at 1 January in the year of study
- tertiary student.
If you’re eligible and are a part time student, you may get:
- ABSTUDY Incidentals Allowance, help with the cost of starting or continuing study or training
- ABSTUDY Away from Base Assistance, help if you need to be away from home or your study location
- ABSTUDY Fares Allowance, help with travel costs between home and study location if you need to live away from home.
You may get more than 1 ABSTUDY payment at a time. Depending on your situation you may only have to apply once.
