Who can get it
To get ABSTUDY Thesis Allowance you must be or have been a masters or doctorate student. You must also be getting or have gotten certain payments.
To get the allowance, you must be getting or have gotten 1 of the following:
- ABSTUDY Living Allowance, paid at the masters and doctorate rate now or within the past 2 years
- ABSTUDY Pensioner Education Supplement, now or within the past 2 years
- a Defence Force Income Support payment, for example payment under the Veterans’ Entitlement Act 1986.
You must be or have been a full time or concessional study load masters or doctorate student.
The amount of ABSTUDY Thesis Allowance you can get depends on what level of study you are or were doing.
