Express Plus Lite mobile app help - Change your temporary password for Express Plus Lite
Instructions on how to change your temporary password for the Express Plus Lite mobile app.
Use the Express Plus Lite mobile app to report employment income in English, Arabic, Chinese, Persian (Farsi) or Vietnamese.
When you register for a Centrelink online account, we'll give you a temporary password.
You’ll need to reset this password before you use the Express Plus Lite mobile app. You can do this through myGov.
When you change your password, you’ll also need to create 5 secret questions and answers.
To use the Express Plus Lite mobile app, you’ll need to:
- sign in with your Customer Access Number (CAN) and password
- accept the terms and conditions
- answer your secret question to set up your 4 digit PIN.
The screenshots in this guide are from a computer. The screen layout will look different if you're using a mobile device.
Step 1: get started
Sign in to myGov and select Centrelink.
Select MENU, followed by My Details, then Account preferences and Change password.
Step 2: set a new password
Enter your Customer access number (CAN), followed by the temporary 8 character password in the Current password field.
Enter your New password. Your new password is not case sensitive. It:
- must be between 6 and 8 characters long
- must include letters and numbers
- can contain some special characters, including: ! @ # $ % ^ & *
- must not use obvious patterns like 12345a or 111222a
- must not be the same as an earlier password.
Enter your new password again in the Confirm your new password field, then select Submit.
Select the question mark icon if you need help.
We’ll let you know when you have successfully changed your password.
Select Continue to go back to your homepage.
Step 3: set secret questions and answers
Select Add a Secret Question and Answer.
Create your first Secret Question and Answer, then select Update. Only you should be able to answer the questions.
Select Add a Secret Question and Answer to set your next secret question and answer.
Repeat this step until you’ve set 5 secret questions and answers.
When you’ve set your 5 Secret Questions and Answers, select Return Home to go back to your homepage.
Step 4: sign out
From your homepage you can complete other transactions or select the myGov icon to return to myGov.
For your privacy and security, sign out when you’ve finished using your myGov account.
Step 5: download the Express Plus Lite mobile app
You’re now ready to download the Express Plus Lite mobile app.
