20 November 2020
Our social media team is ready to answer your questions if you need help with student payments.
We’re coming in to our busiest time of year for student payments. If you’re starting study in 2021 and have questions about our payments, now’s the time to ask. The earlier you get in, the better.
Some of the most common questions we got last year were about:
Try our website first to find the answer. If you can’t find the answer, you can ask your question on our Services AustraliaFacebook or Twitter accounts. Our social media student pros will do their best to respond to you quickly. In the lead up to uni starting last year they answered more than 2,000 questions!
As always, remember to keep your personal details private. We’ll try to help you out as much as we can, but we have to keep our advice general.
If you follow our accounts you’ll also get the latest news and can read responses to other student-related questions.
Other ways to ask us questions
If you want an answer out of business hours, ask Sam, the digital assistant. Sam is ready to answer your questions 24 hours a day. You’ll see Sam pop up on most of our student pages when you browse using a desktop computer.
You can also subscribe to our news for students and trainees. We’ll send you a summary of news items directly to your email each month.
If you’ve used the Payment and Service Finder, you should already know what payment you need to claim. To get started, use our guides to help you claim either:
To find out how to claim an ABSTUDY payment, go to ABSTUDY and select the type of student you are. Then find the payment you want to claim and select How to claim.
Get your claim in up to 13 weeks before your course starts. This means if you’re eligible for a payment you’ll get it as early as possible.
