When families will get the second Economic Support Payment

21 July 2020

If you’re eligible, you’ll get it depending on your Family Tax Benefit payment choice.

We’ve started paying the second round of Economic Support Payments (ESP). If you get Family Tax Benefit (FTB) you may be eligible for it.

When and how you’ll get it will depend on your FTB payment choice. You won’t get the ESP if you’re getting the Coronavirus Supplement.

If you get FTB fortnightly

If you’re eligible, you’ll see this ESP in your bank account from 15 July 2020 onwards.

If you get FTB at a zero rate

If you choose to get your FTB after the end of the financial year, we call this a zero rate. If you get your FTB this way, you’ll get the ESP from 15 July onwards.

If you’ll claim FTB as a lump sum after the end of the 2020-21 financial year

You’ll get the ESP after confirming your income and submitting your lump sum claim for the 2020-21 financial year. You can’t do this until July 2021. If you’re eligible, you’ll get it as part of your lump sum.
