What happens if you’re paid too much Child Care Subsidy
11 March 2021
There are a few things you should know about how we recover any Child Care Subsidy you owe.
There are a number of reasons why you might have an overpayment of (CCS). One reason is if your circumstances changed and you were no longer eligible but didn’t let us know. If this happened to you we would have paid you too much CCS. We’ll then ask you to pay this money back.
We’ll send you a letter with the amount you need to repay and the due date.
It’s important that you either enter into a payment arrangement or pay the money you owe in full by your due date. Most people choose to set up a payment arrangement and repay the money over time.
We may recover overpayments of CCS from any future CCS payments. This means we will pay less money to your child care service. They in turn will pass on a higher percentage of the daily fee to you.
