We’re extending temporary changes for job seekers in Greater Melbourne

We’re pausing mutual obligation requirements until 15 June 2021.

This applies if you live in one of the Greater Melbourne Local Government Areas (LGAs). These are the following:

  • Banyule
  • Bayside
  • Boroondara
  • Brimbank
  • Cardinia
  • Casey
  • Darebin
  • Frankston
  • Glen Eira
  • Greater Dandenong
  • Hobsons Bay
  • Hume
  • Kingston
  • Knox
  • Manningham
  • Maribyrnong
  • Maroondah
  • Melbourne
  • Melton
  • Monash
  • Moonee Valley
  • Moreland
  • Mornington Peninsula
  • Nillumbik
  • Port Phillip
  • Stonnington
  • Whitehorse
  • Whittlesea
  • Wyndham
  • Yarra
  • Yarra Ranges.

From 27 May until 15 June 2021, there are no suspensions or penalties if you don’t meet your requirements.

If you don’t live in one of these LGAs and don’t meet your mutual obligation requirements, payment suspensions or financial penalties may apply.

This applies to job seekers in jobactive, Online Employment Services, Disability Employment Services and participants in ParentsNext.

You still need to:

  • tell us about changes to your circumstances.

You can also stay in contact with your provider either by phone or online.

You should only visit a service centre if you don't have any other choice. If you do, you must wear a face mask. We won't let you into a service centre without one.
