Recent payment changes may affect your family income estimate

Tell us when your income changes. It affects how much Family Tax Benefit (FTB) and Child Care Subsidy (CCS) you get.

From 1 April, some income support payments increased by $50 a fortnight. The Coronavirus Supplement also ended. These changes mean your family’s income estimate for the 2020-21 financial year might need updating.

Permanent increase to some payments

If you get an eligible income support payment, your payment rate will automatically change. If you also get FTB or CCS you will need to update your estimate to include the increase. The increase applies if you’re getting a payment such as:

  • JobSeeker Payment
  • Parenting Payment
  • Austudy.

Coronavirus Supplement

This supplement is a taxable payment and needs to be part of your family income estimate. You must include every fortnightly payment in your estimate, from the start of the financial year until it ended.
