New online options if you get an income support payment

You can now update your mutual obligation requirements online and view your reporting dates.

If you’re a principal carer who gets an income support payment, such as Parenting Payment, you may have mutual obligation requirements. They apply to other payments too, including:

  • Newstart Allowance
  • Youth Allowance for job seekers
  • Special Benefit.

We know there are times when it’s harder to meet your requirements, like the public holidays. You can now tell us online if you temporarily can’t meet your requirements.

You can check your reporting dates online 12 weeks ahead. This will help you report at the right time. You don’t have to contact us to check your dates are correct. You also don’t need to wait for a reporting statement.

The best way to report income is online. Someone else or an organisation can also do it for you. You just need to make a nominee arrangement first.
