Mutual obligations suspended for job seekers impacted by NSW floods
22 March 2021
No mutual obligation suspensions or penalties apply for job seekers impacted by NSW floods.
We’ve temporarily suspended mutual obligation requirements due to the impacts of the storms and floods in NSW.
From Friday 19 March to 11 April 2021, if you live in a NSW Local Government Area impacted by flooding, you’ll be exempt. You won’t get suspensions or penalties for not meeting your mutual obligation requirements.
These arrangements apply if you live in these areas and you’re in one of the following:
- Online Employment Services
- Disability Employment Services
- ParentsNext as a compulsory participant.
From Monday 12 April 2021, you’ll need to start meeting them again.
If you’re directly affected by the storms or floods you can contact us on your regular payment line. You may be able to get a further exemption to your requirements.
