Mutual obligation pause extended for job seekers in Australian Capital Territory
15 September 2021
We’re extending the pause of mutual obligation requirements for some job seekers to Tuesday 19 October 2021.
This temporary pause applies if you live in the Australian Capital Territory, except Jervis Bay.
This includes job seekers in all of the following:
- Online Employment Services
- Disability Employment Services.
It also includes participants in ParentsNext.
During this period, no payment suspensions or financial penalties will apply if you don’t meet your mutual obligation requirements.
You still need to :
- report your income
- tell us about changes to your circumstances.
After the temporary suspension ends, you’ll need to meet your mutual obligation requirements.
If you don’t live in this area and don’t meet your mutual obligation requirements, payment suspensions or financial penalties may apply.
You can find more information about:
- mutual obligation requirements on the jobactive website
- advice for job seekers on the Department of Education, Skills and Employment website.
