10 November 2020
We’re extending some temporary changes to our payments that we made because of coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Australian Government is extending changes to our income support payments that may impact you. They are subject to legislation passing.
The Coronavirus Supplement is extending until 31 March 2021.
The supplement will be $250 per fortnight until 31 December 2020.
From 1 January 2021, it’ll be extended at $150 per fortnight until 31 March 2021.

Nil payment period
The nil rate period we originally extended until 16 November 2020 due to coronavirus (COVID-19) will now continue until 16 April 2021.
A nil payment period starts when you report income over a certain amount and it reduces your income support payment to $0.
We waived a number of waiting periods in March 2020 due to coronavirus (COVID-19).
We’ll be extending waivers for all of the following waiting periods until 31 March 2021:
Income test changes
We’ve increased the income free area to $300 per fortnight for JobSeeker Payment and Youth Allowance for job seekers. We also increased the partner income test.
These changes will now continue until 31 March 2021.
