How to prevent your Youth Allowance or ABSTUDY from stopping
14 October 2021
If we’ve asked you for your parents’ income, they need to provide it by the date in the letter or your payment may stop.
We recently wrote to students, apprentices and job seekers getting Youth Allowance or ABSTUDY as a dependent. We’ve asked for your parents’ income so we can work out how much your payment will be.
You may have got this as a mailed letter or a digital letter in your myGov Inbox.
You still have time to get your parents to give us their income details. If they don’t do this by the due date in the letter your payment may stop.
If your parents haven’t given us this information yet, they can do it online.
If you didn’t get a letter, you don’t need to do anything. We have the information we need.
