Haven’t got a uni offer yet? You can still claim Youth Allowance now

7 January 2021

Get your Youth Allowance, ABSTUDY or Austudy claim in now. Even if you don’t know what course you’re doing yet.

If you’re planning to study in the coming months, you can claim a student payment now. By claiming before you start studying, you could have your payment by the time your course begins.

There’s no need to wait for a formal uni offer. Just put down your first preference when you claim. You also need to put down the start date of that course. If your course ends up changing, you can update your study details later using your Centrelink online account through myGov.

Make sure you check if you can get a student payment before you claim. Then, use our how to claim Youth Allowance tool to guide you through the process. We have a handy how to claim tool for Austudy as well. If you’re claiming ABSTUDY Living Allowance, find out how to claim.

If you’re not sure if a student payment is for you, use our Payment and Service Finder.

Don’t wait, get your claim in today!
