Check your Family Tax Benefit balancing status using our mobile app

You can use the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app to check the balancing status of your Family Tax Benefit (FTB).

How to check your balancing status for FTB

When you open the app, go to your Financial details in your profile.

On the Financial details screen you’ll be able to see a summary of FTB financial details, including your FTB balancing status. Your FTB balancing status will be either:

  • in progress
  • complete.

You can click on FTB balancing for more information.

Understanding what your balancing status means

In progress

If your balancing is in progress, it means we haven’t finalised balancing your FTB yet. This could be for a number of reasons including any of the following:

  • you or your partner haven’t confirmed your income by lodging a tax return or telling us you don’t need to lodge
  • you haven’t got your last FTB payment for the financial year yet
  • we’re checking your balancing outcome before we complete it.

Click on FTB balancing to see the reason why your balancing has not been completed.

Complete

If your balancing is complete, you’ll be able to view the outcome. Your balancing outcome may result in either:

If you’re eligible for a top up or supplements you can view when you’ll get paid and how much. If you have a debt, you can also view your account payable letter and check how much money you owe.

If you get a message that your balancing is complete, but the information it not available, you can check again in a couple days.

If you don’t already have it installed, download the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app to your device. You’ll need to set up the app before you use it. Make sure you have the latest version of the app installed.
