Important information for Residential Aged Care Providers

1 September 2021

Residential aged care providers using Aged Care Online must upgrade to web services before 13 March 2022.

If you’re a residential aged care provider, the way you submit claims and transmit data to us is changing.

From 13 March 2022, you’ll need to use web services compatible Business to Government (B2G) software to access the new Aged Care web services.

PKI authentication is also being replaced with Provider Digital Access (PRODA).

Contact your software developer to find out when they’ll have your web services compatible software ready.

If you use the Aged Care Provider Portal and don’t use software to transmit data to us, you don’t need to do anything. These changes won’t affect you.

Register your organisation in PRODA

If you’re currently using a PKI site certificate to authenticate to Aged Care Online, you’ll need to register your organisation in PRODA.

Before you can register your organisation, you’ll need to make sure that:

  • your organisation name and Australian Business Number (ABN) is correct and active on the Australian Business Register (ABR)
  • you’re an Associate or Authorised contact for the organisation on the ABR
  • you’ve created an individual PRODA account.

Make sure your name recorded on the ABR exactly matches your individual PRODA account name. You can view or update your ABN details online using myGovID or contact the ABR.

Once registered in PRODA, you can complete this form with your software developer to set up your device for Aged Care web services.

The upgrade to web services also applies to other digital health channels. Visit our web services eKit for more information.

If you don’t have a software developer

You can use this list to find software developers with web services products.
