Help close the gap with a PRODA account

21 June 2021

Set up your Provider Digital Access (PRODA) account so you can prescribe cheaper or free PBS medicines from 1 July 2021.

The Closing the Gap (CTG) PBS Co-payment program is expanding from 1 July 2021.

More health care providers will be able to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians access low cost or free medicines. And, more patients will be eligible. It will no longer matter where they live or what their chronic disease status is.

To support the changes, we’re introducing a new national registration database. You’ll be able to access it through Health Professional Online Services (HPOS).

All PBS prescribers, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners registered with both us and AHPRA, will be able to:

  • register patients
  • check if patients are registered.

To use HPOS, you need a PRODA account. Set up your PRODA and HPOS access now so you can start registering patients from 1 July 2021.
