Extra support is available for older persons caring for grandchildren, foster children or for children under kinship care arrangements.
This International Day of Older Persons on 1 October, learn more about the support you can get as a grandparent carer.
You may be eligible for Family Tax Benefit if you provide care for a child at least 35% of the time.
You can also talk to one of our Grandparent, Foster and Kinship Carer Advisers who can tell you about payments and support services you may need, even if you don’t get a payment from us.
