Four tips to get the most out of your ABSTUDY

There are some key things you can do to manage your ABSTUDY payments and avoid a debt.

ABSTUDY is a group of payments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and apprentices.

If you get ABSTUDY, it can help to know how to do all the following:

  • find out what extra ABSTUDY support you may be able to get
  • avoid a debt by telling us about changes to your circumstances within 14 days
  • get a tax file number before you turn 16 to keep getting paid ABSTUDY
  • contact us if you have any questions about ABSTUDY or your payment.
