The new service centre is less than 1 km away from the old one and is well serviced by public transport.
Services Australia General Manager Hank Jongen said upgraded digital facilities will make it easier for customers to access services, so people can get on with what matters to them.
“Customers who want to make a specific time to talk to a staff member about their own circumstances can now book a face-to-face appointment in the service centre,” Mr Jongen said.
“They can also get support with using their online accounts, by booking a digital coaching session with a staff member at time that works for them.
“At the free one-on-one sessions, customers can get help registering and accessing their myGov or Centrelink online accounts, using their own devices or those available in the service centre.”
The design of the centre prioritises staff and customer safety and includes the opportunity for customers to provide real-time survey feedback on the customer experience.
Chatswood Service Centre is now at 12a Brown Street and is open from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm.
