Access the Australian Immunisation Register

You can access the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) in different ways. How you set up your access to the AIR depends on how we recognise you as a user.

To access AIR as a medical practitioner, midwife or nurse practitioner, you’ll need register for an individual PRODA account and link your identifier - either your AHPRA or Medicare provider number.

To access the AIR with your PRODA account:

  1. Log in to your PRODA individual account.
    Log in to PRODA
  2. Under My linked services the Health Professional Online Services (HPOS) tile will display.
  3. Select Go to service on the HPOS tile.
  4. Select No organisation - proceed as an individual only.
  5. In HPOS, select My programs.
  6. Select the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) tile.

To access the AIR as a delegate of a medical practitioner, midwife or nurse practitioner, you need to register for an individual PRODA account.

To access the AIR as a delegate with your PRODA account:

  1. Log in to your PRODA individual account.
    Log in to PRODA
  2. Under My linked services the Health Professional Online Services (HPOS) tile will display.
  3. Select Go to service on the tile to access HPOS.
  4. Select No organisation - proceed as an individual only.
  5. Select My providers from the HPOS home page.
  6. Select the Action column for the relevant provider.
  7. Select My programs.
  8. Select the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) tile.

Before you can access the AIR as a member of your organisation, you need:

To access the AIR on behalf of your organisation:

  1. Log in to your PRODA individual account.
    Log in to PRODA
  2. Under My linked services the Health Professional Online Services (HPOS) tile will display.
  3. Select Go to service on the tile to access HPOS.
  4. Select the name of the organisation or sub-organisation.
  5. In HPOS, select My programs.
  6. Select the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) tile.

If you work for a medical practice, pharmacy, or organisation, or you’re an Authorised Nurse Immuniser with your own Australian Business Number (ABN), you can access the AIR.

To set up access, you need an organisation PRODA account linked to HPOS, and members require an individual PRODA account. Once set up, you can manage who accesses the AIR using PRODA.

You need to complete the following 4 steps to access the AIR.

Step 1. Apply to become a vaccination provider

If your organisation doesn’t have a provider number, complete and submit the Australian Immunisation Register - Application to register as a vaccination provider form.

You’ll need to select one provider type to register. You can read more about provider types who can register as a vaccination provider.

If your organisation has multiple locations, you need:

  • a separate AIR provider number for each site that provides vaccination services
  • to submit a separate application for each site.

Step 2. Register an organisation PRODA account

To register for a PRODA organisation account:

  • the organisation needs an active Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • you must be listed as an associate or authorised contact on the Australian Business Register (ABR)
  • you need to have an individual PRODA account.

Step 3. Link your organisation PRODA account to the AIR

When we approve your application to become a vaccination provider we’ll give you:

  • an AIR provider number
  • an AIR linking code.

You need to enter these numbers when adding the AIR to your organisation PRODA account.

When you add the AIR to your organisation PRODA account, you need to verify your organisation relationship. We can help verify your relationship if the system can’t do this.

Step 4. Add members to your organisation PRODA account

You can add your staff as members to your organisation in PRODA. To do this, each staff member needs to:

Once you’ve added each member and the HPOS attribute has been provided, they can access the AIR on behalf of your organisation.

If the system can’t verify your relationship, you’ll receive a notification.

To request assistance verifying your relationship in PRODA:

  1. Select Assistance required.
  2. Enter your AIR provider number, your organisation details and the problem being encountered in the comment box.
  3. Select Next.

We’ll review your request for assistance and will contact you using your PRODA contact details.
